Re: Organizational Pandemic Readiness
Dear Valued Customer
Increased vigilance and awareness of a possible pandemic influenza has
made itimperative for organizations to initiate their own protocols
for preparedness in the eventof such an outbreak.
I am writing today to inform you that Medical Mart is already well down
the path ofpandemic planning and to our state of readiness. This plan
protects our employees’ health and safety as well as managing
the impact to our customers, our communities and the economy.
Medical Mart has implemented a pandemic response plan and I will share
some of thekey elements with you. A readiness team is now analyzing
the impact on our businessand preparing responses in the areas of essential
employees, processes and products thatare likely to undergo increased
demand. These responses take into consideration such matters as employee
absences, human interaction guidelines and the encouragement ofvaccinations.
On the customer and product side, we have identified customers with
special needs and products that are critical. A process to provide these
critical products in an orderly first order-first served procedure to
prevent excessive ordering, stockpiling andhoarding is in place. This
will provide market stability in the event of implementation of the
plan.
Other policies that are in place to be implemented during a pandemic
includetelecommuting, travel policies and allocating additional resources
to protect ouremployees and customers in the form of hand-hygiene products
and enhancing the telecommuting infrastructure.
The final steps that we are implementing involve communicating with
our employees and educating them on our pandemic preparedness response
plan. From that point, MedicalMart will work with all health care stakeholders
to share and integrate our plans and capabilities for the benefit of
our communities.
Additional information will be posted on our website www.medimart.com.
